Verna, Have been following these questions on Lt. James Calhoun with great interest. He was related by marriage to Lt. Col. George A. Custer, an American army officer, who won fame as an Indian fighter in the West. and was killed by Indians in the "Battle of the Little Big Horn". If I remember right, James Calhoun's sister was m. to Lt. Col. Custer. There is some connection family wise. I have seen books written about Custer that were more of a personal nature at the Barnes & Noble Books Stores. Checking out your public library might be of help.
