    3. Many of you do not receive Rootsweb Review, and I felt today's announcements were crucial for each one of you. Please delete if you have already read this material -- and most important, if you are already a Rootsweb member, and have uploaded your GEDCOM to GenConnect! ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CEO, by Robert R. Tillman o Has RootsWeb helped you this year? If so, please contribute to its support. Only 25,000 of RootsWeb's 1.7 million monthly users, fewer than two percent, contribute financially to RootsWeb. During this holiday season, help us pass on to others the kind of benefits you have received. <http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html> Mailing address: RootsWeb.com, Inc., P.O. Box 6798, Frazier Park, CA 93222-6798. (Please write your e-mail address on all correspondence and checks.) When you become a RootsWeb contributor or upgrade to the $24/year level you gain access to RootsWeb's new Personalized Mailing List. PML <http://pml.rootsweb.com/> allows you to enter multiple complex search terms and receive daily notification by e-mail of any new post that matches those search terms on any of RootsWeb's nearly 15,000 archived mailing lists, 140,000 message boards, and 770,000 RootsWeb Surname List (RSL) entries. This magnificent tool is RootsWeb's "thank you" to its financial contributors. o As of today, users have uploaded 9.6 million names to RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project, but our goal is 12 million names by the end of the year. Help us reach the goal. FamilyTreeMaker.com claims that there are 85 million names (100,000+ GEDCOMs) uploaded to its World Family Tree. Kindred Konnections claims that there are 43 million names uploaded to its Ancestral Archive. However, to access these names, you must either buy a subscription or a CD. Users who cannot or will not pay to access your GEDCOM will not make a connection with you and, when you upload a GEDCOM to these projects, you lose control of your data. In contrast, you can revise or remove your GEDCOM on RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project at any time and RootsWeb will never burn it onto a CD or charge others to access it. In addition, RootsWeb is the largest traffic genealogy community on the Web. Researchers will FIND your GEDCOM at RootsWeb. So why are you waiting to upload your GEDCOM to the FREE RootsWeb WorldConnect Project when you have already uploaded it to sites SELLING access? You have the GEDCOM ready. Uploading it to the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project is fast and easy. Every day you wait is a day that you might miss a breakthrough in your research. You can search the names already uploaded, upload your own GEDCOM, or find more detailed answers to your questions regarding the WorldConnect Project at <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/> Written by <Robert R.
