Hi again Beth, The Hurley Families in America -- is that book something I could pick up or view at the library? I really appreciate you giving me some info. Your first reply to my post was that you believe you descend from James Clahoun (1832-1918). Do you have any information on his parents or siblings? I don't and this is where the confusion comes in as to what County his parents came from. If you were to simply believe Otis's book and ignore the missing generation ... that would take us to our Jame's parents being from Guilford County and thus we would then be connected all the way back to Scotland, in the early 1600's ... however, to be CERTAIN, I left that post to see if there is ANYONE OUT there with proof as to this James' parents county, as I believe that would tell us what direction my (our) line comes from. Please keep me posted. Thank you. Sharene
