My great grandfather's middle name was Calhoun and I have been wondering where the name came from. His gg grandmother was Mary Hamilton sister of Andrew, William, and she married John Byrd who had settled in VA on Jackson Creek. He was killed by the Indians as they were trying to get to Fort Dinwinddie. Mary and all the children but Sarah were captured. Do you have any information about them?
