Charles was supposedly orphaned at a very young age and raised by an unknown uncle . He joined the U.S. Civil war and was a wagon driver at about age 15. After the civil war he was said to have lived in Missouri , and then he did move to Oklahoma for the last land rush . I have no names for Charles birth parents , and no known location for his birth . He was married twice ; first wife unknown believed to of had at least 1 daughter with first wife unknown , first wife passed away unknown . Second wife was a widower named Frances S. Mossberger , maiden name Christie b: 1872 d : April 1942 . Charles and Frances are my great-grandparents . They had 3 children , James Monroe Calhoun b:Feb 20 , 1914 in Fairfax, Ok d : 28 Feb, 1961 in Wichita , Ks. Esther (Calhoun) Day b : Oct 14, 1911 Fairfax , Ok. d: June 13 , 1995 Maramec, Ok. and my grandfather John Charles Calhoun b:Jan 16 , 1909 Fairfax , Ok. d: Feb 1969 Wichita , Ks. John was married to a Jessie T. Phillips b : 1911 d: May 1935. John and Jessie had 3 children Charles R. Calhoun b: June 1, 1932 Fairfax , Ok. d : Jan 1977 Wichita , Ks. , my father Gene A. Calhoun b: Sep 21, 1933 Ralston , Ok. still living Ks. and infant Calhoun b: April 9, 1935 d: April 9 , 1935 Fairfax, Ok. After Jessie died Charles and Gene were placed in an orphanage in Ok. for about 4 years. John married Mildred Jewell Spencer and had a son named Johnnie Lee Calhoun b: Dec 2 ,1938 d: Dec 31, 1938 . In 1939 John and Mildred gathered up Charles and Gene and moved to Kansas .....Anyone know any information as to this family...or know where Charles Calhoun was born or who he was born to? Johnnie Lee Calhoun is buried in the Old Ralston Cemetary . Jessie , and Infant Calhoun are buried in the Fairfax Cemetary. Jessie and Infant Calhoun are buried around 2 other Calhouns (unknown connection ?) they are as follows : Robert E.
