Dear Carolyn: Thanks so much for the marriage info. I had found the John L. Calhoun marriage to Thursy Edwards previously, and contacted that family, but they don't have any more info than I do. We know that our John L. married a Mary Hale in 1883 in Texas, but have been told there was a prior marriage. Would you happen to know what the marriage records that you found actually show? Do they show the groom and brides parents or where they were born or birthdates or anything else besides their names and date of marriage? Appreciate the input. Sincerely, Denise Miller ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carolyn (Parsons) Smedley" <angelears@alltel.net> To: <CALHOUN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 12:50 PM Subject: Re: [CALHOUN] Lemuel Calhoun > Denise, here are some Calhouns that married in Arkansas between 1850 and > 1900.... > Marriage Index: Arkansas, 1850-1900 > > Calhoun, John Spouse : Edwards, Thursey > Marriage date : Feb 19, 1871 > County : Benton > Gender : Male > > Source : County Court Records > Microfilm Number : 1034660 - 1034662 > Calhoun, John C. Sorry for the delay in answering. The marriage records does not give the parents names....only the bride and grooms name, with date, county where they are married. You can send off for the original records in the County it list (at the County Court house)...like I live in Sebastian County. If it lists Sebastian County, usually you can address it to: Sebastian County Court House and the city where those records are kept. Such as Fort Smith, Ar. 72903 Carolyn (Parsons) Smedley angelears@alltel.net ======================== Volunteer for Rootsweb.com, (ODT- Obituary Daily Times, Tombstone Projects, and Sebastian County Line Obituaries ============================================================= SURNAMES: Brummitt, Clark, DeHart, Eslinger,Francisco, Hereford, Mincher, Parsons, Smedley, Taylor ================================================ ----- Original Message ----- From: miller <smiller@sierratel.com> To: <CALHOUN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 4:30 PM Subject: Re: [CALHOUN] Lemuel Calhoun > Dear Carolyn: Thanks so much for the marriage info.
