I am trying to find any and all info on my great-grandfather Charles R. Calhoun. I am stuck at him, due to no info as to his parents or birthplace. He was b: in 1852 unknown d: Jan 1939 in Ok. buried at Ralston cemetary. He was married twice had at least 1 daughter with 1st wife...both unknown. His second wife was Frances S. (Mossberger) Calhoun b: 1872 d: April 1942 Ok. Charles and Frances had 3 children my grandfather John C. Calhoun b: 16 Jan, 1909 Ok d: Feb 1969 Wichita, Ks. Esther Calhoun (Day) b: 14 Oct, 1911 d: June 1995 Maramec, Ok. and James "Jim" Monroe Calhoun b: 20 Feb, 1914 d: 28 Feb, 1961 Wichita, Ks. John, Esther, and Jim were all born in Ralston or Fairfax, Ok. John married Jessie T. Phillips, they had Charles Calhoun b: 1 June, 1932 Ralston, Ok d: Jan, 1977 Wichita, Ks. Gene A. Calhoun, Sr. b: 21 Sep, 1933 Fairfax, Ok. still living. Gene is my father. John and Jessie also had a baby b: 9 April, 1935 d: 9 April, 1935 Ok. Jessie died and was buried 5 May, 1935, Ralston, Ok. John remarried to Mildred J. Spencer. They had 1 child Johnnie Lee Calhoun b: 2 Dec, 1938 d: 31 Dec, 1938. John and Mildred moved to Kansas about 1940. Jim followed John to Kansas a few years later. Jim was married but I do not know to who. Esther married Virgil Day born in Nebraska. They settled in Maramec, Ok. along the cimmaron turnpike and had at least 6 children, that I know of. George Calhoun and Sophia Fraser had a son Charles W born in Dublin county in 1831. Charles came to Boston and in 1849 and married Ann Jane Carney in 1852. Charles' death certificate says that George was born in England and Sophia was born in Scotland.
