Norman Eugene Davis, 33, well known logging contractor, died at the Riverside Hospital Thursday afternoon after an attack of acute appendicitis. Davis had enjoyed good health until the first of the week when he was stricken with the ailment which caused his death. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H.Davis of Janesville and the brother of Mrs. Clyde Garrett, Mrs. J.W.Stiglitz and B.L.Davis of Janesville, Mrs. C.F.Hersey of Susanville and Mrs. F.A.Decious of San Jose. His wife, Vera Barham Davis, preceeded him in death last year, leaving one son, Myron, who is now six years old. Davis served in the World War and was a member of the Thomas Tucker Post of the American Legion. He was born in Janesville and had lived there most of his life. A military funeral will be held at the Janesville Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. by the Thomas Tucker Post. Burial will be made in the Janesville Cemetery beside the body of his wife. The deceased was highly respected ay a large number of friends to whom his sudden death came as a distinct shock.
