Thompson has opened a photograph studio on Gay Street in a house erected by Ike Knoch and thorough equipped for the purpose, having besides living apartments for the family a beautifully decorated waiting room opening into an operating room, the entire north side of which is one mellow north light, will enter without the direct rays of the sun. The dark room is supplied with shelves, sinks and the city water. Susanville is to be congratulated upon securing an artist of such ability as Thompson possesses. He has had 20 years' experience in his profession, the last ten of which were spent in Loyalton, where he built up an enviable reputation. About 12 years ago he received the prize awarded in San Francisco for the best work in child photography and has fully kept up to dae in his equipment and knowledge of the profession. He is prepared to do portrait work in black and white and sepia. Tim
