Just a quick not to let you know that if any one of you are needing Millitary or pension files from the National archives, I might be able to help. I go into Washington DC once a week on business and I am quite familliar with the National Archives. I would be happy to get whatever anyone who is on this list needs. For pension files, complete with all pages (usually up to 50), nice copies (I make sure of this) $34.00. For millitary files complete $20.00. For revolutionary millitary files, $20.00, and for Rev. pension files $34.00. If you not sure if your ancestor has a file I will even search for you , check the file to see if the file exists, then you can place your order. I am usually pretty fast as I have been researching for the past 10 years and usually have you file for you in 10 days. Otherwise, the National Archives can take 2 months of longer for a response of which they often always short you on the number of pages they give you. Let me know if you want me to research anything for you. You may give me the names of the ancestors who you believe fought in the union or confederate army or even ther Rev. war and I will see if they have the files. After the services I was fellowshipping with several soldiers and two of them lived in Susanville, Lassen County. One of them made a remark that I looked exactly alike a Adams that lived in the Susanville area. Last night while surfing the web I entered the name of my Grandfather (Eli Joseph Adams Jr.) on the LDS Genealogy Web site and came up with a name that I thought might be my Grandfather Adams. I called my mother and after reading to her the information on the web site, she confirmed that this was my grandfather and my great-grandfather. My Father was Robert Adams My Grandfather was Eli J. Adams Jr. My Great-grandfather was Eli Adams (DOB 5 Sep 1820 The descendents of Eli Adams were listed as follows: Charles M. My uncle, Bill McIntosh was Lassen County Road Commissioner for years and is still alive, I believe. my grandfather married Effie May Brown after my grandmother past away and he settled in Susanville. Effie was my step-grandmother and had a beauty shop and house at 105 Grand Ave. She lived quite a lively life after my grandfather died. I have been told by several people over the years that she ran a bar/brothel called Shirley's. My father Reece W. Lofftus ran a butcher shop in Herlong right after WWII. Any information about any part of my family would be greatly appreciated.

He may have been married to Callamae and had two or three children. He lived in Bieber, Lassen County and worked in a saw mill in Susanville. He was also known by the name "Frenchy."
