Looking for information on the families of John Henry and Matilda Merrill Davis and John's sister, Adlin and Frank Ripley. John died July 1930, and Matilda died Sept. 1940. They are both buried in the Janesville Cemetery. Would like to know what happened to their children and also Joseph Davis, father of John and Adlin. Any information would be appreciated. Sir. I don't know about the rest of the group but I find this rather offensive. We are a genealogy group, not a private detective. How do we know you are not looking for them for a legal action of some sort. Maybe if we knew a little more of why then we might be more helpful. Genealogist have a really big thing about protecting the rights of the living. One of my major projects is that of complete compilation of Lassen County place names, past and present and that of geographical features as well. In addition it includes, old schools, post offices etc. Since I have been slowly working on this for over 20 years, there is no time like the present to complete the same, which is about 75%. So you might be receiving alot of queries and or just plain information on others that might be of interest. For starters, there is the Addington Post Office. It was located in the north end of Dry Valley between Grasshopper Valley and the Madeline Plains. The post office operated intermittenly from 1890 to 1910. Emma Burch served as first postmaster. I was told once that it was named after members of the Addington family of Surprise Valley, yet a complete search of County archives, I can not find reference to any Addington's residing there. But if memory serves me correctly, there was a connection between the Chace family of Adin and that of the Addingtons. Anyone know about this or could enlighten me about the Addingtons, as believe there are a few people out there related to them. Tim
Diane, No obituary appeared locally. Guess you would have to try Daly City, where Jack died.
