    1. [CALASSEN] Andersen, Anders--1940 Census
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: shebbear Surnames: Andersen Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.lassen/671/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Seeking information on Anders Andersen and wife Anna, listed on 1940 census, 118 Russel Ave, (Unincorporated) Millwood Farms, Honey Lake Judicial District, Lassen County, CA. I have not found him on the CA death index. This couple may have owned the house that they were living in, as the column for value of home or amount of monthly rent says 500 (and that would make more sense for the value of the house as opposed to monthly rent). Anders' employment is listed as a lumber piler at a lumber mill, but he had been out of work for 10 weeks. If anyone could check the courthouse for a marriage record for Anders and Anna (perhaps 1935 or later, due to Anna's place of residence in 1935) or a land record for the purchase of the house, we would really appreciate it. 2. Tim Purdy
    3. The Westwood Cemetery page has been revised. At the moment it only covers the first fifty years, however, it includes listings of the unmarked graves, which is rather substantial. In addition, I included all deaths at Westwood from 1913 through 1933, and notation of those who were buried elsewhere. See http://www.citlink.net/~lahontan/archivelinks/Wwoodcemetery.htm The Red River page will be updated shortly, with a story about the roadhouses. I recently learned that the 101 Nite Club bar was sold to the Bouchards who moved it to Standish to become known as the Wayside Inn.
