The service was conducted by Rev. Dale Klint, minister of the First Baptist Church, in the Chapel of the Armstrong Mortuary. Mr. Nixon, who resided at 1049 Almo Road, was a resident of Shafter the past 77 years. He was born in Lockhart, Tex., on April 6, 1890. During his active working days he was a farm worker employed by the Carl Johns' Farm. Survivors include his widow, Allie; two sons, Elton and Elwin Nixon, both of Shafter; Mrs. Beulah Howell, Mrs. Sadie Searcy, Mrs. Faye Duran and Mrs. Pauline Crawford, all of Shafter; six brothers, Harvey, Claude and John, all of Dinuba, Curtis and Homer, both of Marlow, and Sidney, of Paris, Calif. 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Immediately after the service, the body was shipped to Lindsay, Okla., for burial in Green Hill Cemetery.
