KING 1927-2005 Ilona W. King passed away Wednesday April 13, 2005 at Ridgecrest Healthcare of natural causes. She was 77. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Monday, April 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1031 S. Norma St. Bishop Brent Hedman will officiate. Mrs. King was born July 6, 1927 in Albuquerque, N.M. A Ridgecrest resident since 2003 she was previously a resident of North Dakota. She was an advertising agent and retired in 1992. Her family says this about her: "Ilona enjoyed fishing ad (sic) wearing earrings made from fishing bobbers. She enjoyed cooking and she made beautiful wedding cakes. She also liked going to yard sales and collecting antiques. She enjoyed sewing and craft projects. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs." Mrs. King is survived by her husband Garrett King of Ridgecrest, sons Bennie Wegener Jr. and wife Mary of Ridgecrest, Dennis Wegener of Ridgecrest and Anthony Wegener of Ridgecrest, and Anthony Wegener and wife Marsha Kay of Anchorage, Alaska, daughters Ilona Ratliff of Clayton, Ohio and Avanell J. Borgstrom of Middleton, Ohio, brother Max Wilson and sister Dorothy Myers, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her son Charles Wegener in 1986.
