Menees, 34, of Bakersfield, was found by his companions Saturday morning 24 miles west of Mojave. He and H. .R. McGuffin, Floyd Horne of Bakersfield and Wayman Neufield of Rosdale had been hunting wild horses and separated with the intention of meeting Friday at 6:00 p.m. according to a sheriffs report. When Mr. Menees didn’t show, his three buddies started a search and found the body which had apparently been dragged by his horse over rocky ground. A party from Mojave including the O'Donnell ambulance and officers from the Mojave Sheriff's substation, made the trip to recover the body. Menees is survived by his widow, two sons, a daughter, his parents, residents of Wasco and three brothers. Funeral services were held on Wed., Sept. 21, at Greenlawn Memorial Park with interment there.
