He was 74. Cremation will be private and burial will be at Rand District Cemetery in Johannesburg. Mr. Cope was born on Oct. 24, 1930 in Arkansas. He was a previous resident of Michigan. He was a retired welder and a US Army veteran. His family says this about him: "He grew up and lived in Michigan until he joined the Army. He was a Korean War veteran. He moved to California in 1964 where he worked as a welder in Southern California until he moved to Randsburg in 1980. He truly enjoyed fishing." Mr. Cope is survived by his wife Vi of Randsburg, daughter Terry of Hemet, step-daughter Kerri of Michigan, brother Roy and sister Joyce of Michigan, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen and by three sons. Arrangements, private cremation and media information provided by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
