She died suddenly and in her own home which she shared with her loving husband of 61 years. She was 81. Services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday May 10 at Holland & Lyons Chapel. A reception will follow at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ship 4084, 117 Alvord St. Geraldine was born to William and Hannah Robbs on March 28, 1924 in Skieston, Miss. She traveled as a small girl out West with her extended family in a two-car caravan. All the children in one car driven by Geraline's 14 year old cousin. The Robbs family settled in Pasadena, where Geraldine later fell in love with her brother's best friend, Robert Kinstle. Geraldine and Robert married in 1943. The young couple came to the Indian Wells Valley for a weekend visit with her parents in November of 1945 and never left. The couple made an indelible mark on the valley through their dedication to the founding of the VFW Ship 4084. Geraldine was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary for 59 years, hosting countless corned beef dinners, and turning heads on the parade route in her color guard uniform. Her dedication and generosity with which she gave of her time will be sorely missed. Geraldine's greatest labor of love, however, was her family. Her hand of support for her immediate and extended family was ever present and always unconditional. Her love manifested in mid-day tuna sandwiches for her son, Girl Scout cookie chairmanship for her little girl, three cherry pies a week for her grandson all through high school, hosting a wedding for her granddaughter and fresh laundry for her 86 year old brother. Geraldine was preceded in death by her sister Jestine Westbrook of Clovis, N.M., and brother J.W. "Dogie" Robbs of Ridgecrest. She is survived by her husband Robert Kinstle, sister Juanita Caprula, brothers Joel, Williams and C.D. "Bogie" Robbs, son Robert Kinstle Jr., daughter Karen Walp, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Media information provied by the family.
