A. A. S. last Thursday, May 5, a little after 5 p.m. caused by the crash of an F-9-F fighter plane. Instantly killed was First Lieutenant Robert A. Shepherd, Jr, who was taking the ship off for a routine training flight. Lt. Shepherd, 23, had been assigned to the Mojave Base just two weeks ago. Marine authorities at El Toro Marine Base in releasing the crash information said Lt. Shepherd was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A.
