A young boy, who was later identified as William Lowel Doyle, 14, was lying near the mail box and blood was running from a wound later found to be in the center of the forehead. Mr. Wilson took a quick look and immediately drove up to the Golden Queen Clinic to summon help. A nurse, Mrs. Morris, came down after calling the Sheriff's' office in Mojave. When Sgt. Ledwidge and deputy Shuell arrived at 1:38 p.m. the boy was found dead and O’Donnell ambulance removed the body to the mortuary. The house address of the boy was 2544 Honolulu, L. A. He had been visiting his aunt, Mrs. Lane. In her statement to officers she said the boy had left the house 20 minutes before with a .22 rifle and said he had one shell left and was going hunting. Coroner Stan Newman was notified and a coroner's investigation will be made to determine the cause of death.
