The Rev. Richard A. Dawson of College Heights Congregational Church will officiate and interment will be in the family plot in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Mathis was a native of Missouri and had resided in Bakersfield 49 years. Survivors include one son, Russell Mathis of Bakersfield; two daughters, Lillian Ellison and Ethel Knox of Oakland; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George Jones of Oklahoma; three sisters, Lucy Mosher of Kansas, Jane Williams of Oklahoma and Dianne Cantrell of El Centro.
