Nutt of Bakersfield was killed in action on Luzon. His mother, Mrs. J. B. Alsup of this city, was notified of his death in a telegram from the war department. Nutt landed at Lingayen Gulf early in the invasion, in which a brother, First Lieutenant Frank Nutt, also participated. He was wounded by a sniper January 27th, recovered and returned to active duty. Another brother, Corporal Kenneth Nutt, also is in the Philippines. Sergeant Nutt was born in Taft, was graduated from the Bakersfield High School and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Besides his two brothers and mother, who lives at 123 Mears Drive, he is survived by a step-father, J. B. Alsup; a sister in law, Mrs. F. M. Nutt; a niece, Nancy Jeanne Nutt; his father, E. M. Nutt of Coalinga; a grandmother, Mrs. Tishia Trivett of Taft. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
