May 17. - Word was received today of the death of Capt. Ernest B. McMahan, 23, of Bakersfield, in an airplane accident in England, where he was stationed as a squadron leader in a Mustang group. He had three more combat hours to complete before becoming eligible for a leave home. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. McMahan, and his widow, all of this city.
