H. Franey of 1700 Forest Street, Bakersfield, were notified by the war department late yesterday their youngest son, Corporal Francis Franey, 22, was killed in the Marshall Islands in the crash landing of a B29. Young Franey, who was born and reared in Bakersfield, was chief gunner on a B29. He was educated in the local schools and attended Santa Clara University before entering the army. His father, a well known local insurance man, formerly was connected with the banking business here. There are three other brothers in the service, Joseph, serving with the army in Europe; John, in India, and Lieutenant Gerald Franey, in Germany.
