Nix, husband of Mrs. Goldie Nix of Taft, who has been missing since August 19, 1943, has been declared officially dead by the war department. Captain Nix, the pilot of a B17, was reported missing following a raid from his base in England over Holland. He held the Air Medal and the Purple Heart will be given posthumously. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Nix of Fellows and attended the Taft Union High School and Junior College, where he won varsity awards in track and boxing. He received flying training at the Spartan School of Aeronautics, Tulsa, Oklah; Goodfellow Field, San Angelo, Tex., and Ellington Field, Tex.
