She was 68. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 28 at 1:30 pm at Holland & Lyons Chapel. The Rev. James L. Goss of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be at Desert Memorial Park. Mrs. Francis was born Nov. 27, 1936 in Gasville, Ark. She moved to Ridgecrest in 1941. She was married to her husband Ray for 51 years and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a Girl Scout leader and positively influenced girls for over 10 years. She was a Ridgecrest Reserve Police Officer - the first female officer - for many years. She then went to work for the Sheriff's office as a secretary, dispatcher and sworn special deputy. She was also a substitute teacher at Burroughs High School. The last 25 years she spent in real estate. She was an avid collector of antique jewelry, especially "cameos." She is survived by her husband Ray N. Francis of Ridgecrest, daughter and husband Kathy and Clark Harris of Moreno Valley, daughter and husband Candy and James Hammond of Norco, sister Linda Kay Sapp of Inyokern, seven grandchildren Krysta Olson of Ontario, Michael Francis of Ridgecrest, Michelle Warren of Hemet, Ashley Warren of Moreno Valley, Kristie Blevins of Newport Beach, Christopher Wolfley of Corona and Nicholas Zatarain of Norco.
