A pioneer in Mojave these past 34 years he was part of the history of our community. His passing was in Kern, County Hospital last week, October 18th, and funeral arrangements were incomplete until his daughter Agatha Lucille Dorman of Reno, Nevada and a son Gerald Ward Pattison of Oaklawn, Illinois made arrangements; Charlie also is survived by one brother, Robert Pattison of Temple City, California. Eighty-two years ago on October 29th he was born in St. George in Kansas. This week on October 29th, his birthday, he was buried. He was a member of the Modern Woodsmen of the World, St. George (Kansas) chapter, and he came West to Mojave thirty-four years ago. Charlie had the ice and coal business on the corner of L street and Shasta and lived just a block away on K Street. Apropo of his Western Pioneering "Home on the Range" and "Goldmine in the Sky" were the two songs rendered by Rachel Hodges at the services at the O'Donnell Funeral Chapel at which Rev. James Thompson officiated.
