Garcia, 53, an employee of Monolith Portland Cement Co. was fatally injured Friday, Feb. 1, when he attemped to oil a pulley on the third floor of B Mill. It is thought he was pulled into the machinery accidentally. When fellow workers found him, his arm was practically torn off. The injured man was rushed to the Tehachapi Hospital where he died at 7:20 a.m. A resident of Tehachapi since 1954, he and his family resided at 128 East "I" Street and survivors include his wife Agustina and son, Jose; also several brothers and sisters. Rosary was held Wednesday evening at 8:00 o’clock in St. Malachy's Church in Tehachapi. Mass will be said Thursday, Feb. 6 with Father Eggert officiating. Interment will be in Tehachapi Cemetery.
