This affects the SCGS Tree Shirts. It does not affect the tote bags. Unfortunately, we must pass this increase along to our members. If you are interested in saving a few dollars on your Tree Shirt, act now. You can reorder your existing shirt at www.cafepress.com/scgsgenealogy or order a new product at http://www.scgsgenealogy.com/BreakingNews.htm#shirts =================== This note from Modern Genealogy LLC: Help Us Make Better Genealogy Software Modern Genealogy, LLC is developing the newest software product to make genealogy and family history research an easy and enjoyable process. Up until now you may have dealt with older software packages that feel like they were developed in the early 90's. It's time for a change. Our goal is to develop the most friendly and easy to use tools available. This means you don't have to worry about steep learning curves, hidden functionality, or spending hours at your computer trying to do what your software should be doing for you. In order to make the above possible we're running our software through a series of usability tests. These tests allow us to monitor people's initial reactions, as well as get their feedback about how easy or difficult it is to perform certain tasks, and whether it succeeds in providing the features they use most. We'd like to get volunteers with and without previous experience using genealogy software programs to come to the SCGS Library on September 8th with their laptops to participate in these tests. We need to be able to install/remove the Genealogy Software from your laptop. We need people who have laptops with CD-ROM's and Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista. Available hard drive space should be 250 MB+. Also, the installation process does install .NET 3.0. Finally, anyone interested in doing usability testing for us will receive a free copy of the software once it's completed. For more information, or to indicate your interest in participating, please send email to jwalsh@moderngenealogy.com. ================== SCGS at "LA as Subject Archives Bazaar" at Huntington Library Saturday, September 29 Representatives from SCGS will be in attendance at the second annual Los Angeles Archives Bazaaron Saturday, September 29, from 10am to 4pm at the Huntington Library, Arts Collection and Botanical Gardens in San Marino.
