She was 92. Graveside services will be held Friday Mar. 11 at 11 am at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield. Pastor Dale Cornell will officiate. Miss Griggs was born Aug. 14, 1912 in Ryan, Texas. She was a nurse and orked with Dr. Thomas Drummond, founder of what is now the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital in the 1940s. She also worked as a licensed vocational nurse for the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital in glendale. She returned to Ridgecrest in 2002. Miss Griggs is survived by a sister C. Opal Goode of Ridgecrest, niece and husband Cheryl and Bruce Bernhardi of Ridgecrest, niece Wilma Bloxom of Bakersfield, great-niece and spouse Kathy and Kent Kauffamn, great-nephew Jim Bloxom, great-nephew and spouse Scott and Irene Boxom and their respective families. Graveside services were held March 11 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield. Miss Griggs was born Aug. 14, 1912 in Ryan, Texas. She worked with Dr. Thomas Drummond, founder of Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, in the late 1940s. Before retirement she was employed as an LVN at Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital in Glendale. She moved back to Ridgecrest in 2002. She is survived by her sister C. Opal Goode of Ridgecrest, nieces Cheryl and husband Bruce Bernhardi of Ridgecrest and Wilma Bloxom of Bakersfield, great-niece Kathy and husband Kent Kauffman, great-nephews Jim Bloxom and Scott Bloxom and wife Irene and their respective families. Interment was at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were provided by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
