NICE" STEWART Former resident James Vog Stewart passed away Wedensday March 16, 2005 at the University of Utah hospital from complications of pneumonia. He was 73. A memorial service will be held Friday March 25 at 11 am at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, 1281 N. Roop St., Carson City, Nev. For information please call. Mr. Stewart was born on July 3, 1931 in Portland, Ore. He served as a second lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After his stint in the service he alternated between working on survey crews and attending college. He obtained a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Idaho, leading to a career as a test engineer for various defence contractors, working on projects such as the space shuttle, solar observatory satellites and the ISS. Mr. Stewart greatly enjoyed his last work assignment near Naresborough, England. He made many good friends there who gave him the moniker "Vog Rampant" (His family never found out the exact reason for this nickname and would appreciate it if one of his friends stepped forward to offer an explanation). Upon retiring he settled in Carson City, Nev. He was a very friendly person with a dry wit and an anlytical mind. He often helped out friends and family financially and was very generous. He enjoyed working on cars, bowling, shooting, playing cards, reading, watching football and most of all just hanging out with good friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Magdalena, father Chester, first wife Florence and brother Doug. He is survived by his two ch8ldren Karla and husband Tim Meyn of Ridgecrest and Joe and wife Allison Stewart of Riverton, Utah. He is also survived by five grandchildren Kady Meyn and Isaac, Ben, Kimberly and Timmo Stewart. Although the last nine months of his life were physically painful and tiring, he bore the burden without complaining. He was a unique person and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The family askes that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society. Media information provided by the family.
