He was 71. A wake will be held Saturday April 2 from 6 to 9 pm for family and friends. Mr. Schriner was born Dec. 25, 1933 in Punxsatawney, Pa. He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. He moved to Ridgecrest in 1982. He earned his bachelor's degree and worked as an electronics engineer at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake. he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Civilain Service on Dec. 1,1995 for his work in impulse technology. He also received the China Lake Fellow Award for technical achievement as an electronics engineer in 1993. He retired in 1997 and opend his own company Schriner Engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Nita Schriner of Ridgecrest, daughter Ellen Makin of Fredericksburg, Va., sons David Schriner and Lyndon schriner of Gold Canyon, Ariz., sister Suzanne Schriner of Aliquippa, Pa., brothers Lyle Schriner of Aliquippa, Pa., Robert Schriner of Mesa, Ariz., and Paul Schriner of Aliquippa, Pa.. five grandchildren and one great grandchild. News Review newspaper Ridgecrest Ca March 30, 2005 DAVID ARDELL SCHRINER David Ardell Schriner died of terminal cancer March 17, 2005 at his Ridgecrest residence. He was 71. Family members and friends are invited to attend a wake Saturday, April 2 from 5 to 9 pm. Mr. Schriner was born Dec. 25, 1933 in Punxsatawney, Pa. He served in the US Navy from Nov. 12, 1952 to Nov. 9, 1956. He moved to Ridgecrest in 1982 and was employed at China Lake as an electronics engineer until 1997. After his retirement he was CEO of Schriner Engineering. He held a bachelor of science degree and earned numerous recognitions, including the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for Impulse Technology, awarded Dec. 1, 1995. He was made a China Lake Fellow for Technical Achievement in Electronics Engineering in 1993. He is survived by his wife Nita Schriner of Ridgecrest, daughter Ellen Makin of Fredericksburg, Va., sons David Schriner and Lyndon Schriner of Gold Canyon, Ariz., sister Suzanne Schriner of Aliquippa, Pa., brothers Lyle Schriner of Aliquippa, Robert Schriner of Badan, Pa., Tom Schriner of Mesa Ariz., and Paul Schriner of Aliqippa (sic), five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
