He was 82. Visitation will be Sunday, March 27 from 2 to 4 pm at the Trona Holland & Lyons Chapel. A Rosary will be said at 5 pm at St. Madeline Catholic Church in Trona. A funeral Mass will be said Monday March 28 at 10 am at St. Madeline Catholic Church. The Rev. William Kiefer will officiate. Burial will be at Searles Valley Cemetery. Graveside rites will be performed by VFW Post #1950, Trona. Mr. Wojtowicz was born June 15, 1912 in Kenosha, Wis. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1945 to 1949. He moved to Trona in 1950. In 1961 he married Maura in Ireland. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland and the couple had made more than 25 trips over the years. He enjoyed fishing and being actively involved as a lifetime member of the Trona VFW Post #1950, the American Legion Post #684 and the Knights of Columbus Council #3199. The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 129 E. Ridgecrest Blvd., Suite F, Ridgecrest CA 93555 or to a charity of your choice. Mr. Wojtowicz was preceded in death by a son Paul in 1993. He is survived by his wife Maura Wojtowicz of Trona and a brother Felix Wojtowicz of Henderson, Nev. Funeral mass was held March 28 at St. Madeleine's Catholic Church. The Rev. Father William Kiefer officiated. VFW Post 1950 of Trona provided graveside rites. Mr. Wojtowicz was born June 15, 1922 in Kenosha, Wisc. He served in the US Army from 1945-49. He married his wife Maura in 1961 in Ireland. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland, which he and his wife visited more than 25 times. He also enjoyed fishing. He was actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a life member of the Trona Post 1950. He was also a member of American Legion Post 684 and Knights of Columbus Council 3199. Contributions may be made to the IWV Unit, American Cancer Society, 129 E. Ridgecrest Blvd., Suite F, Ridgecrest CA 93555 or to a charity of your choice. He is survived by his wife Maura Wojtowicz of Trona and brother Felix Wojtowicz of Henderson, Nev. He was preceded in death by his son Paul in 1993. Interment was at Searles Valley Cemetery in Trona. Arrangements were provided by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
