Tibbet, Passes Death came yesterday at Rand District Hospital to Jesse Albert Tibbet, age 60 years, member of a pioneer Kern family and brother of Metropolitan Opera Star Lawrence Tibbett. The mining engineer and long time resident of Randsburg was born in Bakersfield in 1883 and lived all of his life in this county. He was the son of the late Mrs. William Tibbet and Officer William Tibbet, whose murder 40 years ago in the line of duty avenged by his brother, the late Bert Tibbet, constitutes one of the heroic stories of Kern's early days. Mr. Tibbet is survived by a daughter, Miss Frances Tibbet of Los Angeles, a son, William M. Tibbet, Los Angeles; two brothers, Lawrence M. Tibbett of New York City and Ernest L Tibbet of Burbank; a sister, Mrs. Betty Sherman of Mobile Ala., and a granddaughter, Judith Fay Tibbet, Los Angeles. Funeral services will be held at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Chapel at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, with the Reverend Ralph cox, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Union Cemetery. Bert Tibbet, cousin of the deceased, will be the soloist, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Pearle Smith. Sharon Kern Co. Volunteer
