Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JW.2ADE/8179 Message Board Post: Daily Independent newspaper Ridgecrest CA Kern County May 19, 2005 VIRGINIA ROCKE 1921-2005 Let it be known that on Saturday May 14, 2005 that Virginia Jeanette Rocke passed on to be with Our Lord and Savior. Mrs. Rocke was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 29, 1921. She moved to California with her husband and two children in 1962. Eventually after her two children were raised she and her husband Joe moved to Ridgecrest, California. Joe worked as a technical writer for about 10 years then retired. Four years later he passed on (in 1985). Virginia stayed in Ridgecrest working as a homemaker for Indian Wells Valley Homemakers until 1997 and at that time moved to Ione, Calif. to live with her son Gary and his wife Judy. during the last months she was living at Kit Carson convalescent hospital and was under the care of Hospice of Amador. She is survived by one brother Robert Smith and his wife June of Shawnee, Kansas, a son Gary Rocke, Sr. and his wife Judy of Ione, Calif., a daughter Ruth Fors and her husband Dave of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and six grandchildren Gary Rocke Jr and wife Becky and a great granddaughter Gillian of Ione, Calif., Liberty Rocke of Sagus, Calif., Ethan Rocke and wife Sebrina of Simi Valley, Calif., Crystal Fors and Cammy Fors of Cottage Grove, Oregon and Curtis Ueland of Helena, Montana, plus four step-grandchildren David and Kevin Summers of Ione, Calif., Zephyr Fors of San diego, Calif. and Roxanna Sprick of Corvallis, Oregon. Virginia had requested there be no services but that she is laid to rest next to her husband of 43 years in Oakwood Cemetery in Chatsworth, Calif. She will be missed by all who knew her and the family ask that any donation go to the American Cancer Socity or Hospice of Amador (1500 South Hwy 49 #205 Jackson, Calif. who we thank for all their help during the last months. We are also grateful to all the staff at Kit Carson for their care and kindness to Virginia.
