TIPTON 1911-2005 Roy M. Tipton a long time resident in the area passed away at his home in Inyokern on Friday May 20, 2005. He was 94. Private graveside services are planned. Mr. Tipton was born March 8, 1911 in Indianola, Iowa. He and his wife Lucille started a chicken ranch in Ridgecrest in 1954 and sold eggs locally. He was a mechanic and long-haul truck driver for much of his life and hauled ore from Nine Mile Canyon for a number of years. In his later years he enjoyed playing bingo at the Desert Seniors Club in Inyokern and frequent shopping trips to Ridgecrest. Lucille preceded him in death in February, 1987 and his eldest son Ronald Marlowe in 2000. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Spande and husband Kenneth of Brush Prairie, Wash., son Jack Tipton and wife Susan of Ridgecrest, daughter-in-law Judy Arenz of Coolidge, Ariz., two sisters and two brothers as well as four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson.
