Nothing about a dairy. Then in the 1920 census, he had 4 children and was a conductor of an electrical car. Again, nothing about a dairy. In the 1930 census, the oldest daughter is enumerated with her grandparents, Thomas and Nancy Higgins. She is listed as a servant. But she is also listed with her parents with no occupation. In the named children below, Edith J. always seemed to go by the name of Alta and Herman E. is listed as Ellis in the 1930 census. They eventually had 9 children, all born in Kern Co. He died in San Luis Obispo Co., as you know, since you have left a post it note on the CA Death Index site. Have you requested an obit lookup from the volunteer in San Luis Obispo Co?
