Sam Sapp shot his b/l for abusing his sister, Mamie Sapp Long. He stayed in Fl. only long enough to sell his property. I have a post card showing Sam and 3 other men on an Oil Well in Bakersfield, Calif. The postmark is not clear but looks to be 1910.. But family records and oral tradition says he was in Bakersfield about 1910-16. He is thought to have died about 1916 during the Flu Epidemic, according to a 2nd cousin. He was born 13 June 1885 in Alachua Co. Fl. He was about 21-22 at the time he went to Calif. He may have stopped over in Okla, or Texas before going to Calif. I would like to have someone check the cem. and obits, city directorys and any oil field records for leads on Sam Sapp or any marriages or children. Any other suggestiong for search? Thanks.
