Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JW.2ADE/8491 Message Board Post: Railroad Employe Accident' Victim Rafael Garcias, 32, a Southern Pacific Railroad section hand who lived in Lone Pine, died in Ridgecrest Sunday night, April 27 after he was thrown from a car involved in a traffic accident and later run over by a CHP officer's car, who was investigating the accident. Officer Annin, whose car ran over the unfortunate man, said he was forced off the road, when a motorist failed to yield the right of way and did not see the man until too late to avoid striking him. Garcias was a passenger in a car with four others and this vehicle was struck by another car occupied by several women at the intersection of Hwy. 212 and Kay Street at 10:20 p.m. An autopsy was performed to determine how the man died and the findings will probably be released later.
