He went to be with our Lord on June 4, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father James Ligon, and his brother Michael Casey. He is survived by his fiancé Kim Kincaid of California City, his Mother Lucille Johnson of California City, brothers Robert Gailbraith of California City, Daniel Casey and Larry Clarkston of Oregon, sisters Sammy and Suzy Ligon of Rosamond. His children, Lynn Frokes of South Dakota, Tessa Ligon of Temecula, Ashley Ligon of California City, Donavon, Derrek and Elaura Ligon of Florida. And is granddaughter Breanna Frokes of South Dakota. Along with several nieces, nephews and other family members. He also leaves behind his three best friends and comrades, Gary Harper, Michael Edds and Wayne Lemons. Along with so many others friends, to numerous to mention. Whom all will miss him dearly. Avery was born in Berkley, CA and came to Mojave in 1953, where he went to school and graduated from Mojave High School. Being here for so long, he loved the desert and all that was here. Avery was a Great Son, a Caring Brother, a Loving Father, adoring Grandfather, and Best Friend, but most of all, a Man with a Giant Heart of Gold. The King of the Elves lives on.
