He was 80. Visitation will be held at Holland & Lyons Mortuary on Friday July 1 from 5 to 8 pm with a time of sharing and memories at 6 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 2 at 10 am at Holland & Lyons Chapel. Rev. Nua Lualemagal from the Santa Ana Samoan Christian Church will be officiating. Mr. Ta'aga was born in Olosega, District of Manu'a, American Somoa on March 22, 1925. He was raised by his uncle and aunt in a small village of Fitiuta, Manu'a. He is one of 12 siblings. He married Gese Pagofie. He worked for the Government of American Somoa Public Works Department for several years. Besides his employment, he did carpentry, hunting, fishing, and working on the family plantation in Samoa. He also enjoyed traveling to what he called "the mountains." He arrived in California in 1989 settling in Long Beach with his children. He was an active volunteer at the Senior Center in Long Beach. He was well-liked and will be missed by his co-workers and friends he made along the way. They remembered him as a quiet man who spoke by action. He moved to Ridgecrest in 2000. He was a man of great integrity and honor, with an unwavering devotion to his family. His faith and trust in Jesus Christ sustained him over the years and particularly during his final months and days. His wisdom, humility, courage and spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Although he will be missed his family rejoices with faith and knowledge that they will be reunited for eternity in the presence of God. Mr. Ta'aga is survived by his daughters Iva Sulufaiga Ta'aga of Ridgecrest, Fouaimalo Ta'age-Tuala of Bremerton, Wash., and Amalama Dottie Ta'aga Robinson of Ridgecrest, sons Aoina Ta'aga of American Somoa and Titiula Ta'aga of Long Beach, brothers Aoese Lualemaga of Fresno, Iulio Laulemaga of American Somoa, and Saleutogi Lualemaga of Fresno, sisters Faletolu Atalima of Marina, Fouaimalo Ta'aga-Timoteo of Waipahu, Hawaii, 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Simi James Robinson and daughters-in-law Aliane Ta'aga and Siotau Ta'aga. He was preceded in death by his biological parents Manuma Laie Lualemaga and Ilulo Lualemaga and his parents who raised him Fa'aifoao Ioane Ta'aga and Leono Laie Ta'aga, brothers Sila Lualemaga, Manutau Lualemaga, Tui Lualemage and Taufagu Lualemaga, sisters So'opepa Passi, Leua Lualemaga and Taioaopo Lualemaga and son-in-law Miu Tuala.
