At an early age she devoted her life to God and was secretary at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church for 33 years. As a young woman she studied at Draun Business School in Oklahoma and at one point could type 120 words per minute with no errors. In 1954 she went on her only blind date arranged by her friend. Less than a year latter she married Frank E. Crawford. They settled in the suburbs of Oklahoma City where their two daughters were born. When the family moved to California she worked two years at Michelson Lab, China Lake in the Sidewinder Program as a division secretary. In 1967 she began working at Immanuel and that is where she remained totally devoted to the work she was doing for the Lord. During her many years at Immanuel besides her office work she directed Vacation Bible School on more than one occasion and was Children's Camp director at Pismo Beach taking her daughters along. One of her great loves was singing in the choir most always alto but sometimes tenor, she participated in many musical endeavors with the choir throughout the years. She was a very accomplished pianist and organist and played for many years at Immanuel and Ridgecrest Healthcare. Many couples in Ridgecrest were married with her at the keyboard. She also directed the children's choir at Immanuel for many years and produced many wonderful performances. Her favorite composers were Chopin, Beethoven and Roges and Hammerstein, being a great lover of musicals. Her family will remember her as a loving, nurturing person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a woman of prayer and faith and her spiritual influence will be greatly missed.
