AYERS 1932-2005 Longtime Ridgecrest resident George F. Ayers passed away Monday June 20, 2005. He brought his family to Ridgecrest in 1967 and called it home until his death. He was 72. The family plans a private memorial later this summer. Mr. Ayers was born Aug. 14, 1932 in Newport News, VA. Eventually moving to California he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco where he was voted most loyal by his classmates. At his graduation he received the loudest applause because of his geniune kindness and football career. Upon moving to Ridgecrest in 1967 he became manager of Sears Roebuck Catalog Store and eventually became the district manager until he retired in 1988 after 38 years of service. His family will remember him as a hard-working, honest man, who loved his family, his country and his garden. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Noema Ayers, daughter Dian Tabb and husband Gene Tabb, daughter Donna Williamson and husband Gene Williamson, son Christopher Ayers and wife Linda Ayers, daughter Cindy Agnes and husband Gerry Agnes, 10 grandchildren Gene Tabb III and wife Lisa, Noema Randolph and husband Mark, Rachel Tabb, Brian Barker and wife Suzanne, Clint Williamson, Chris Ayers Jr., Sarah Ayers, Nocole Agnes, Kristen Agnes, and Eric Agnes, six great-grandchildren Austin and Howie Tabb, Michael andCorbin Barker, Meagan and Ryan Randolph and a community of friends. The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association, Kern County Chapter, PO Box 2111, Bakersfield CA 93303. Private cremation and arrangements provided by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
