He was 82. No services are planned. Mr. Davis was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Wakefield, Ohio. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 and was a WWII veteran. He lived in Yuma, Ariz. prior to moving to Ridgecrest in 2003 to be close to his daughter. He was a manager of an engineering model shop until his retirement. His family says this about him: "In Gene's short time in Ridgecrest he made a lot of friends and will be missed by all who knew him." He was preceded in death by his wife Beth Davis, on June 12, 2002. He is survived by three daughters Linda Butler of Sparks, Nev., Norma Mangrum of Ridgecrest and Sharon Varwig of Manteca, granddaughter Melissa Butler of Sparks, Nev., grandson Brian Bartels of Ridgecrest, grandson David Bartels of Carlsbad, granddaughter Connie Ayala of Sunnyvale, granddaughter Julie Varwig of Campbell, great-grandchildren Lane Butler, Sara Bartels, Lars Bartels, Maddie Bartels, Mia Ayala, Kyle Hatchet and Annalea Bartels. Gene was born August 16, 1922 in Wakefield, Ohio. A previous resident of Yuma, Ariz. he was a retired manager of an engineering model shop. He served his country during WWII in the US Army. After his wife Beth Davis died June 12, 2002 Gene moved to Ridgecrest in January 2003 to be close to his daughter Norma Mangrum. In Gene's short time in Ridgecrest he made a lot of friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
