He was born in Midvale, Utah but had been a California resident for the past thirty-five years with twelve of those in Mojave. Connie formerly operated the Disposal Service some years ago selling it to the present owner. He was very proud of the modern truck which he made a special trip to purchase. Connie lived at 16114 L Street and built his own home and two rentals on the rear of the lot. He was a quiet man and liked by all who knew him. He was employed as a custodian by Kern County. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife Velma, one son, Garnet Sullivan, a brother Rudger Walker of Oxnard and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sermon, and Mrs. Maggie Stoddard of Wilmington, Calif. Also two grandchildren, Terry and Judy. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in the Congregational Church with Rev. James Thompson officiating jointly with Mojave Elks Lodge No. 2059. Interment was in Mojave District Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
