The Rev. Carlton Ellis, minister of the Central Southern Baptist Church, will officiate and interment will follow in the Garden of Memory section at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Smith was a native of Oklahoma and had resided in California and Kern County 17 years. He had been engaged in the telephone business 16 years and last employed by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. as a messenger. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Bakersfield. Survivors include his widow, Sarah; two sons, Harley Smith of Bakersfield and James W. Smith of La Puente; four daughters, Verlene Norman and Virgie McRory, both of La Puente, Bernice Fitts of Salinas and Marilyn Smith of Bakersfield; his mother, Nancy Smith of Bakersfield; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Mitchell of Bakersfield, Mrs. James Dick! son of Texas, and Mrs. Harold Culver of Lodi; five brothers, Earl Smith of Nevada, Clifton Smith of Arizona, Tony Smith of San Jose, Reddex Smith of Stockton, and Lester Smith of the United States Air Force and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers will be H. P. Perry, F. J. Fahrendorf, L. O. butcher, C. O. Ilvanie, Fred Riccomini, and C. O. Allen. Sharon Kern Co. Volunteer
