Hello listers & requesters, I think that most of you have heard my moaning and groaning over the necessity of babysitting workmen for multiple repairs on my new house. When we moved in at the end of January 2007 we had no idea it would still be ongoing for nearly a year. Just as that was beginning to thin out, my husband had surgery on his right shoulder and was laid up for 6 weeks. He was back at work for about 2 weeks when he had a heart attack while working on a job in Missouri. During his convalescence he joined me on my library treks to search for obits and he finds it very boring. During all of this I also cared for 3 of our grandsons, ages 1 yr, 2 yrs, & 4 yrs, M-F while their parents taught school. I want to tell you all how much I appreciate your patience in regard to all the obit requests I accepted for Kern County between November of 2006 and now. I have finally finished the lookups and will now commence the transcribing. Needless to say, I will need to space them out to some degree, I don't want to inundate the lists, and I doubt I could even do them all in a month of transcribing 24/7. For those that have/had asked for news articles connected with the death obit, I will be doing those last. In fact, if necessary, I might even scan them and post them to the Kern County Message board where you can read them for yourself. Thanks again, Sharon Kern Co. When i signed on to this site, i think i didn't read the topic. My interest lies whit this family, which emmigrated to Grand Rappids, Michigan. As this is the one person i cannot find info of, but know that he moved to America. I've not checked the site of Grand Rappids yet, this is the first thing i'll do after answering you. About other relatives Vandermeulen, i do know that there were more which emmigrated to America, but they are from annother "string" of my familytree. These persons are also on my list, but one at a time. Thanks for your tip. Kind regards, Arnold Goossensen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I think, when you siad that "I've got a default reply back," that you tried to reply to the default email address for the board and that address is only for posting and not replying. The topic of this message board is Kern County, California. Since this is the board you chose to post your original query about this family, your query is supposed to have some connection to the topic of the board. That is why we both have asked what the connection is between your Vander Meulen family and Kern County in California. We volunteers can be more helpful with our resources here in Kern Co. if we know what the connection is. Was there something in particular that made you decide to post on the Kern Co. board? Since they were in Grand Rapids Michigan, have you checked that message board? Or have you checked the GenWeb pages for that county in Michigan? www.usgenweb.com There are no names that I'm aware of for me to send to you so you can see if there is any relationship to yours.
