Villard, the 14-year-old son of Ambroise Villard, a sheep raiser who is well known throughout Kern county, died yesterday at the Bakersfield-Kern hospital of loss of blood and shock following the fracture of a leg near Delano last Friday. The unfortunate boy, who resided with his parents a short distance from Delano, was in the habit of taking his sisters to school in the mornings in a wagon and returning for them after school hours. Friday morning he drove the children to the school house and upon his return, his foot, which was hanging out of the wagon, became entangled in one of the wheels of the vehicle. Young Villard was forcibly jerked from the seat of the wagon and was turned over and over by the revolving wheel. He yelled lustily to the horses to stop and the animals, of a gentle disposition, came to a halt, but not until Villard had been badly injured. Almost crased with pain the injured youth managed to climb into the wagon and drove to his home. Dr. Taggart was called in attendance but upon his arrival at Delano he learned that the injury to the limb was such that an amputation would necessary. In consequence the injured boy was brought to the hospital at Kern. He was near death when placed upon the operating table, but after the amputation he rallied somewhat. In a few moments, however, he commenced to sink and from that time on his death was but a matter of time. At the time the leg was fractured the lower portion of the limb was almost torn away at the knee joint. Because of this the arteries were ruptured and the loss of blood so weakened his constitution that he was unable to rally from the shock. The remains were shipped this morning to Delano for interment. The accident happened on the unfortunate boy's birthday. Sharon Kern Co. Alviso, 65, of 2315 Olympic Dr., died from an apparent heart attack Sunday afternoon while attending a barbecue party at the Charles West Ranch. Mr Alivos (sic), born Feb. 28, 1900, in Madera, was reared in the Madera-Coalinga area, and had been employed for 46 years as a construction foreman for the Shell Oil Co. in the San Joaquin Valley. He had retired from his post in February. He had engaged in the cattle business as a sideline. Mr. Alviso enjoyed riding and was expert as a showman and trainer off quarter horses. His wife, the former Victoria Crump, died in 1958. The couple had been married 36 years. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Harman E.
