Mr. Dominguez was born in 1925 and served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1962. He worked as an electrician at the Naval Weapons Center from 1962 until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. SCHOEN Former Ridgecrest resident Ralph R. Schoen passed away at his home in Blue Island, Ill on Wednesday March 9, 2005. He was 63. Mr. Schoen served in the Navy and retired after 20 years at the Naval Air Warfare Station, China Lake on Dec. 31, 1984. He was active in the Lloyd E. Frost Ship 4084 Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as ship's captain and also as district 10 commander. Mr. Schoen was also a memvber of John M. Armitage American Legion Post 684. He is survived by his duaghter Audra Schoen of San bernardino, son stacy Schoen and grandson Jonathan Schoen of Running Springs, granddaughter Haley Schoen of Mission Viejo and cousin Marsha Sawchuck of Blue Island, Ill. A viewing for Mr. Gee was held at Parkway Christian Center and services were led by Pastor Dennis Webber. Interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 28 Honor Guard. Gee was born July 24, 1948 in Los Angeles and grew up near the Naval Weapons Center China Lake. He attended UCLA and other colleges in the Los Angeles area. He worked as an engineer for Siemens Rolm communications in San Ramon. He also served in the California National Guard, State Military Reserve and retired in 2004 with the rank of major. On April 10, 1982 he married Dianne Jacques in Los Altos. The couple moved to Grants Pass in June 2002 from Danville. He was a volunteer with emergency in both Josephine and Contra Costa Counties and was a member of the Rogue Valley Harmonizers, the Western Welcome Newcomers, the Academy of Model Aeronautics and several other model airplane clubs. He also enjoyed amateur radio. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Tiffany A. Whysong of Sacramento, borther Larry Gee of Diamond Bar and a granddaughter. MURBACH 1921-2005 Warren J. Murbach passed away at his residence after a brief battle with cancer on March 20, 2005. Born in Winona, Minn. on Aug. 18, 1921 Mr. Murbach attained a bachelors of science degree in organic chemistry before enlisting in the Navy in 1943. He served aboard the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Champlain during World War II participating in the sinking of an attacking enemy submarine somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean and the downing of an enemy fighter plane during the invasion of Southern France. After three years of mlitary service he met his future wife Edna when he returned to college in s. (sic) Louis to obtain his masters of science degree in chemistry. Upon graduation he took a job as a civilian chemist at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake where he worked for 28 eyars before retiring in 1977. He then lived in Sun city for 28 years and enjoyed coin shooting with his metal detector, big band music and dancing. He is survived by his daughter Karen A. Miller, her husband Steven and three grandchildren Kelly, Daniel and Travis all of San Luis Obispo. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna and daughter Diana J. Lemon. Private inurnment and arrangements were made by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

She was 93. Visitation was from 4 to 8 pm Thursday March 24 at Kern Memorial Chapel in victorville. Funeral services will be held at the Little Country Christian Church in Hesperia on the corner of "C" and Main Street on Friday March 25 at 2 pm. Internment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Mich. March 30. Rev. James Goss, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate at the service in Hesperia. Rev. Kimber Decker, pastor of New Hope Free Methodist Church will conduct the service in Kentwood, Mich. Mrs. Bird was born June 23, 1911 in Belding, Mich. She lived in Michigan until 1959 when she moved with her husband Lawrence Bird Sr. to victorville. He became a teacher at Victor Valley High School and she served as the assistant director of the Free Methodist Church nursery school. They moved to Apple Valley in 1963. She was self employed as director of Kiddie Klub preschool of Apply Valley from 1963 to 2000. She officially retired at the age of 89 and moved to Foremost unassisted living apartments in Hesperia. In May 2004 she moved to Ridgecrest to live with her son eventually residing at the Ridgecrest Healthcare Center for the past five months. Mrs. Bird was known to the Victor Valley as Lady Bird. She joined her husband on their radio program, Early Bird Hymn Time and Sunday Hymn Time from 1967 to 1990 on radio station KAVR. She also assisted her husband when he was the pastor of the congregational Church (now known as The Little Country Christian church) on the corner of "C" and Main Stree in Hesperia from 1970 to 1990. She served as Minister of Visitation for the church during the 199s. She also served as moderator of the church for two years. She was nominated for "Volunteer of the Year" by the town of Apple Valley in 1999 for her service to the community as a day-care provider and for her visitation of the elderly and shut-ins in local care homes. She was known for her tireless energy and devotion to her family, friends and others but most importantly to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her wish for all of her family and friends would be that they would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior so they will spend eternity with her in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Lawrence Bird Sr. She is survived by her brother Ward Bodine of Redlands, her children and their spouses Eleanor and Stan Chase of Kalamazoo, Mich., Gloria and Howard Martin of Lansing, Mich. and Larry and Jane Bird of Ridgecrest, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was 82. Visitation will be Sunday, March 27 from 2 to 4 pm at the Trona Holland & Lyons Chapel. A Rosary will be said at 5 pm at St. Madeline Catholic Church in Trona. A funeral Mass will be said Monday March 28 at 10 am at St. Madeline Catholic Church. The Rev. William Kiefer will officiate. Burial will be at Searles Valley Cemetery. Graveside rites will be performed by VFW Post #1950, Trona. Mr. Wojtowicz was born June 15, 1912 in Kenosha, Wis. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1945 to 1949. He moved to Trona in 1950. In 1961 he married Maura in Ireland. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland and the couple had made more than 25 trips over the years. He enjoyed fishing and being actively involved as a lifetime member of the Trona VFW Post #1950, the American Legion Post #684 and the Knights of Columbus Council #3199. News Review newspaper Ridgecrest Ca March 30, 2005 STANLEY WOJTOWICZ Stanley Wotowicz died March 21, 2005 at his Trona residence. He was 82. Funeral mass was held March 28 at St. Madeleine's Catholic Church. The Rev. Father William Kiefer officiated. VFW Post 1950 of Trona provided graveside rites. Mr. Wojtowicz was born June 15, 1922 in Kenosha, Wisc. He served in the US Army from 1945-49. He married his wife Maura in 1961 in Ireland. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland, which he and his wife visited more than 25 times. He also enjoyed fishing. He was actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a life member of the Trona Post 1950. He was also a member of American Legion Post 684 and Knights of Columbus Council 3199. Contributions may be made to the IWV Unit, American Cancer Society, 129 E. Ridgecrest Blvd., Suite F, Ridgecrest CA 93555 or to a charity of your choice. He is survived by his wife Maura Wojtowicz of Trona and brother Felix Wojtowicz of Henderson, Nev. He was preceded in death by his son Paul in 1993. Interment was at Searles Valley Cemetery in Trona. Arrangements were provided by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.

He moved to Ridgecrest in 1982. He earned his bachelor's degree and worked as an electronics engineer at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake. he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Civilain Service on Dec. 1,1995 for his work in impulse technology. He also received the China Lake Fellow Award for technical achievement as an electronics engineer in 1993. He retired in 1997 and opend his own company Schriner Engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents. He served in the US Navy from Nov. 12, 1952 to Nov. 9, 1956. He moved to Ridgecrest in 1982 and was employed at China Lake as an electronics engineer until 1997. After his retirement he was CEO of Schriner Engineering. He held a bachelor of science degree and earned numerous recognitions, including the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for Impulse Technology, awarded Dec. 1, 1995. He was made a China Lake Fellow for Technical Achievement in Electronics Engineering in 1993. He was 86. Born June 27, 1906 in Ferndale, Wash. Mr. Newkirk worked as a machinist for China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station for 25 years. He served in the Navy from 1929 to 1930 and had lived in Ridgecrest since 1945. Mr. Newkirk was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 377 in Artesia and served as president of the Machinist Union. Mr. Newkirk is survived by his wife of 54 years Helen Newkirk of Ridgecrest, daughter Sharon Lack of Gilbert, Ariz., granchildren Carla Boldt of Victorville, Dena Minneci of Ontario and Randy Lack of Fontana, great grandchildren Amber and Jacob Boldt of Victorbille and Corrie Minneci of Ontario. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday Jan. 2, 1993 at Holland & Lyons Chapel. Past Master Eli Harrison of the Masonic Lodge will officiate. The accident occured at about 6:20 am Saturday on State Route 14, south of Jawbone Canyon Road. Daniel Bonelli, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene according to the California Highway Patrol in Mojave. Salvador Reyes, 37, of Sylmar, was driving the game type of big rig northbound on State Route 14 when he noticed the southbound truck drifting into the northbound lane. Reyes braked and steered right but Bonelli in the southbound truck kept drifting into the opposite lane. The trucks sidswiped each other and Bonelli was ejected from his truck. Both trucks ran off the east side of the road and rested in the desert. A highway patrol officer said if Bonelli had been wearing his seatbelt he would have lived. He said Bonelli probably fell asleep while driving. Rey and his passenger, 10 year old Salvador Reyes, Jr. were not injured. They were both wearing seat belts.

She was 87. Born March 12, 1905 in Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Draper worked as a self employed dollmaker for 40 years, she was a manufacturer and dealer of dolls. Mrs. Draper was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a member of Eastern Star. Mrs. Draper is survived by her daughters Joy Darnauer of Morgan Hill and Artis Hargfan of California, sisters Pearl Forsberg of Logan, Utah, Beatrice Baker of Sedona, Ariz. and Nadine Winkler of Ridgecrest, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Arthur Davis and second husband Leroy Draper and brother Ernest Crisman. Funeral services were at 10 am today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop C. Kent Bullock of Ridgecrest, 2nd Ward, officiated. Burial is in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. Arrangements are being handled by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.

Leanne McCoy, 40, was driving erratically when the accident occurred at about 5:45 pm acording to the California Highway Patrol in Bishop. The accident was on US Highway 395 almost 1.2 miles north of Moffat Ranch Road. McCoy was weaving from the right and left shoulders at speeds from 35 to 75 mph according to CHP. Her truck and a vehicle driven by Steve H. Shin, 42, of Los Angeles, collided after her truck swearved into his lane as he was southbound according to CHP> Shin had slowed down and tried to avoid the McCoy truck but the vehicle struck at the left headlight and McCoy's truck overturned. McCoy was taken to Southern Inyo Hospital and transferred to the Washoe Medical Center in Reno where she died at 3:30 am Christmas Day. A blood-alcohol test was ordered but the results have not yet been returned. Her passenged 8 year old Robby McCoy was not injured. Shin was taken to Southern Inyo Hospital and transferred to the intensive care unit at Loma Linda Medical Center. Two passengers - Wan Chae Ko, 40 and Suck Chan Kim, 31, both of Seoul, Korea, were treated at Southern Inyo Hospital and released. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
