She was 49. A memorial service will be held at St. Ann Church on Monday, May 16 at 1 pm. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be sent in Shirley's name to The Forbes Norris ALS Research Center, Attn: CPMC Foundation, PO Box 45234, San Francisco, CA 94145. All of her family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life potluck on Friday, May 20 at 6 pm at her home in Inyokern. She always loved a good party and watching people enjoying themselves, this is how she wants to be remembered. Her family says this about her: "Her fight is over. She has gone on to be with her mother and Heavenly Father. Her beravery, spirit and heart were an inspiration to all who w3ere with her during her fight against Lou Lehrig's Disease (ALS) for the past seven years. She finally succumbed to this debilitating disease at 12:20 pm Tuesday at home with her loving husband Jim at her side. Mrs. Tooker was born to Al and Alice Bruno in Willowdale, Toronto, Canada on May 13, 1956. Her family moved to Southern California where she attened school and graduated from Mayfair High School in Lakewood. She moved to the Indian Wells Valley in the 1980s. She worked at First Federal Savings and Loan for many years and then was hired at Guild Mortgage Company where she worked for six years as a loan processor. She married her best friend and soul mate, Jim Tooker on April 25, 1992. In 1999 they moved to Inyokern and started their Grey Feather Ranch, where she and Jim raised African Grey Parrots and was able to pursue her lifetime dream of owning and showing her horse, Rusty. She also loved scuba diving, underwater photography, hiking and 4-wheel drive trips. She loved animals and volunteered through Police and Community Together (PACT) in developing the animal welfare program. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Chapter 902 in Downey. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Bruno and her sister Bernice Bruno. She is survived by her loving husband Jim Tooker of Inyokern, step-daughter Shaleen and husband Mark Lambert, granson Trenton and granddaughter Addison of Ridgecrest, in-laws Melvin and Margaret Tooker of Fountain Valley, father Al Bruno of Lakewood, sisters Carol Pentecost and fiancee Bob Eastwood of Maryland, Leslie and husband Scott Lockwood of Descanso, niece Heather and husband Mike McGinn, grand-niece Talley of Sacramento, many family members in Canada and her best friend Darlene Thomas who was always there for her. The family wish to thank all of Shirley's Angels, who gave so freely of their time, energy and resources to ensure that she was able to live at home and her caregivers, both employees and friends, who took care of her so lovingly. Her fight is finally over and she has gone to be with her mother and Creator our Heavenly Father. He liked to have coffee and spend time with friends. He was a good husband, father and provider for his family. Norma Ave. Mrs. Smith was born on Nov. 25, 1928 and later reared in Perry, Fla. She and husband Lorin Raymond Smith retired in Heber Springs, Ark. where she was an avid golfer, learned to paint, belonged to the local garden club and became a bird watcher, an active participant in the Republican organization and an active member of the Lutheran church. After her beloved husband of 58 years died in 2002 Mrs. Smith came to live with her son Lorin and his wife Donna in Ridgecrest. She adapted to the desert life and enjoyed being a part of the Desert Artists League, the Church of the Nazarene and a part in the very active lives of her grandchildren and five of her great-grandchildren. She delighted in frequent visits from her daughter Mary Elizabeth Fjelstad and Grandson Jarrad, both of Washington. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death in 2002 by her beloved husband and two of her three children, Lorin Richard Smith who passed away April 1, 2005 and James Allen Smith deceased June 15, 1989. I was born in Muskegon MI. they divorced when I was a baby so I have very little on him, I will always look for a picture of him, have found many living Bennetts but no one has a picture, went to a Bennett reunion in 2004 in Goderich, Ontario Canada, were having it here in Muskegon next year.Hoping to find more info on my dad to share with the family from out ofstate and from Canada. Mrs. Perry was born Oct. 25, 1914 in Hollywood to Harold and Inez Moodie. She was married to Robert Charles Perry in Glendale on June 14, 1935. For many years they lived in the Simi Valley area where she enjoyed being a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She served as president of the Simi Valley Women’s Club. Mrs. Perry was a talented artist and an avid painter with oils. She and her husband enjoyed travel up and down the Pacific coast, as well as in Alaska and Hawaii. They moved to Tehachapi in 1983 to be close to her family. She was a member of the Bear Valley Springs Women’s Club. Mrs. Perry is survived by her sons, Richard Perry and wife Marie of Lancaster and Christopher Perry of Rosamond; daughters, Kathleen Herman of Tehachapi and Carole Hildreth and husband Jerry of Bear Valley Springs; daughter-in-law, Barbara Perry; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Perry, in 1993. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth. Wood Family Funeral Service handled he arrangements. Evans was born on July 13, 1917, in Clarendon, Ark. to Henry and Erneza Evans. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was discharged Dec. 4, 1945. Evans married Gladys Marquerite Moon on Oct. 24, 1943, in Yuma, Ariz. He was employed as a police officer, retiring as captain of the Hawthorne Police Department. He and his wife moved to Tehachapi in 1978, where he served on the Tehachapi Planning Commission. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, being a member of Tehachapi Lodge #313 F.&A.M. at the time of his death. He had been a member of Al Malaikah Shrine and other Masonic bodies. Evans is survived by his daughter, Nancy L. Wooten and granddaughter, Wendy Wooten, both of Tehachapi. She was 56. A memorial service will be held Saturdy May 7 at 1 pm in Modesto. Ms. Johnson was born May 18, 1948 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She grew up in Ridgecrest/China Lake. She was a member of Job's Daughters and Ridgecrest Hospital's Candy Stripers, which was the beginning of her interest in nursing. She received her RN and continued studies to graduate with a Master's degree. She moved to Modesto in 1974 where she worked at Doctors Medical Center at the Modesto City Hospital until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the American Nursing Association. She loved to camp and fish in the High Sierras and carve wood. She loved her pets, a parrot, two cats and her beloved dog Summer who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Gordon "Johnny" Johnson and Lorraine J. Johnson. She became the matriarch of the family, frequently having gatherings at her home. After being overcome by multiple sclerosis she continued to be an independent and strong person, as she had been in her good health. Her family says this about her: "Our sister suffered through nine years of pain and paralysis. She accepted her burden with great dignity. She accepted Jesus Christ our Lord and is now in the Kingdom of God." Donations in her memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the charity of your choice. She was 62. Private services will be held in Lompoc at a later date. Mrs. Henden was born in Tiffin, Ohio on Sept. 9, 1942 and moved to Ridgecrest at the age of 5. She attened Burroughs High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Tom. They married in 1963 and moved to Lompoc in 1966. She was an active member of the Lompoc community, serving in both the Los Berros Elementary School and Cabrillo High School Parent-Teacher Associations. She also worked for many years in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church preschoool. She was an avid gardener. She loved working in her backyard garden, which she transformed into a little private paradise. She also enjoyed walking her dogs in the nearby La Purisima Mission State Historicl Park with her husband. Her family says this about her: "Sharon was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, a doting grandmother and a faithful friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She is greatly missed." Tom and the family would like to thank all of the friends and neighbors who have kept Sharon in their thoughs and prayers. Mrs. Henden is survived by her husband Thomas A. She was 67. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 14 at 2 pm at Holland & Lyons Chapel. Inurnment will be at Desert Memorial Park. Ms. O'Day was born Oct. 20, 1937 in Manhattan Island, N.Y. She was a very devoted wife and mother. She was a rare stay-at-home mom until her children finished school and started out on their own. She volunteered for everything - secretary work for church, Scouts, PTA, classes for handicapped children, babysitting and cheering up anyone in need. Most will remember her as the funny girl who loved to make people laugh. Her children remember her for her compassion towards others, always wanting to help someone in need. Her first realy paying job was for Holland & Lyons Mortuary. She loved her work she loved being there for others in their time of need. She also worked for the Chamber of Commerce and Drug and Alcohol Abuse programs. She always had an ambition to be a writer and attended creative writing classes in college. She has written some lovely pieces. Her hobbies were writing stories and shopping - even if she didn't buy anything she had to look at everything. She loved anything that sparkled or had brilliant color. She loved porcelain dolls. She constantly talked about her children and was very proud of her family and her heritage. Her family says: "Nothing can ever take the place of a beautiful mother, but she is only gone from sight. She lives forever in our hearts and left us with beautiful memories. Besides, she kept saying 'little Hungarian is calling me hoime.' Now how can you argue with that? We love you mom, thanks for loving us. "I am the resurrection and the life. HOGUE 1947-2005 Terry W. Hogue, 57 of Medford, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 while on a cruise to the Panama Canal. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 2 pm at the First Nazarene Church in Medford. Pastor David Grinder officiated. Interment will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery in a private service. Mr. Hogue was born Oct. 25, 1947 in Burbank to Edwin and Billie (White) Hogue. He was raised in China Lake and attended and graduated from Burroughs High School in 1965. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the US Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968 where he achieved the rank of sergeant. In 1969 he married the former Sharon Mouw in Lakewood who survives him. In 1977 the family moved to Medford from Cerritos. Mr. Hogue was employed with Pacific Power as a lineman and foreman. He was an avid sports fan, a 49'er fan and had coached girls Little League softball. He enjoyed all women's sporting events. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 659. Terry especially enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Traci Thomas and her husband Jeff, Tamara Ilten and her husband Erick, all of Medford, brother Danny Hogue of Palm Desert, father Edwin Hogue of Medford, and five grandchildren Sydney, Sarah, Gabriel, Jacob and Asher, all of Medford. He was preceded in death by his mother Billie (White) Hogue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit of Rogue Valley Medical Center, 2825 E. Elk's Trona Lodge No. 1975 as well as the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1950 in Trona. The family says this of her: "Jacqueline was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a beautiful lady. Her love and song will live in our hearts forever."
