There is no Fort Klammath in Kern County to my knowledge. There is a Fort Klamath in Oregon, though. Also, Ukiah is in northern California while Kern County is in the southern part. I checked the CA Death Index for your John Lambert and there were none that died in 1911 or 1910 even. There were a few that died in 1905/06 and one or two that died in 1907/08, but none of those died in Kern County. The newspapers are not usually indexed and finding an obit generally means reading the microfilm of the daily newspapers for up to 5 to 10 days after the date of death. The print is small and faded and asking volunteers to read weeks and weeks of papers isn't practical. You really need to get the exact date and place of death. Sharon Kern Co. Volunteer

I am in need of an Obituary for one, William Eugene BARTLETT. William died on 7 April 1979 in Bakersfield, CA and is buried at Sunrise Lawn, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bakersfield, CA. I have a Funeral Card from his funeral service, but I need a copy of the actual newspaper obit. That, OR the information that the Funeral Home (Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary) has on file. If someone could obtain that for me and send it to me, it would be deeply appreciated! If you can help me with this matter, please just email me personally at < ourgenealogies@aol.com> and I will give you my mailing address. I will reimburse you for your expenses. GLADLY! :-) Thank you SO much! Steve Seagraves
